Eating insects

Nice little lie in to start the day off, which was needed for some after the rather heavy night of drinking. In 7 hours we would be reaching Phnom Penh however we had a couple of stops to do on the way. First stop lunch which consisted of a wooden shack on stilts over a large lake. Was a lovely view to soothing the hang-overs. Back in the bus and our next stop was not my favourite of the tour so far to say the least but Matt rather enjoyed watching me poo my pants. And the reason for this was because we stopped at a very local market that consisted of cooking and eating every bug under the sun but what made it worse was the little boy running too close to me with a huge tarantula attached to his shirt. A few of us took refuge in the market itself to find ourselves standing next to a bucket with near on 200 tarantulas in it. After finding a relatively spider free spot Matt decided to try the 8 legged creature and eventually I gave in to eating a little bit of spider leg, let's just say it doesn't taste like chicken. Matt also then took it upon himself to eat a whole grasshopper and these things were huge at least 10cm long. Back in the bus and we arrived at the capital city of Cambodia. We finished the day off with a walk around the city and dinner in our coats due to the torrential downpour that was happening.
