Up and on the road again. Chiang Mai was getting closer. On route to Chiang Mai, we stopped off in Chiang Rai to visit the White temple. Although we didn't go inside it was an incredible building made all from white materials. We think most of it was marble. Coffee and cake bought, back In the busses. Arrived in Chiang Mai, recognising the odd few places as we had been here before two years ago. Off for lunch before check in and it was good to dive straight into some nice Thai food again. With check in completed, Phil, G and I decided to rent a few bikes and cycle round the city for the afternoon. Only 70 Baht which is just under £2. It was good to explore the city again, although the roads were manic and we nearly died a couple of times. It's all cool, we were fine. On our cycle travels I went to locate the last hotel we stayed in which wasn't that far to get to. After getting lost a couple of times we eventually made it. Well, it was completely gone. There was nothing there, just a fenced off area and a massive wasteland from where the hotel had been. Madness! It was a great hotel too. Hmmmmm. Anyways back to the hotel and off to the night market. Night market was good, one of the best actually. We followed this by going to watch a Cavalry show... Now I didn't know what to expect but putting myself in the front row was not a good idea. I got destroyed. It started off sort of okay. They say on me and stroked my face. Then it got really weird, I was the youngest by far and sitting in front row... Mistakes. Next up I had "breasts" in my face and by no time I had to go up on stage. Then they kissed me. This was not okay hahaha. After a few more performances they then got guys up on stage and of course I was picked again. 10 of us guys from around the world got taken back stage and they dressed us up in dresses and wigs. We then had to perform. Just to clarify, none of this was voluntary. We all ended up on stage shaking our rear ends and then dancing around the arena. It was time to go. After a free drink and a round of applause, embarrassed as anything us 10 guys got changed and that was that. Show ended and pictures taken, it was time to call it a night. A lot of fun and laughter! But can't say I'll be going in the front row again hahaha. Wow. Goodnight.
