Mount Bromo

Today was the day that I got to truly explore the true geographer within. Today we were heading to Mount Bromo. First though we headed to the local pet market which was rather different to heading down to Notcutts to pick out your rabbit. So as we walked through this market we saw plenty of birds and other animals such as rabbits, cats, dogs, owls, bats, chickens, ducks, hamsters, mice and even civet cats, geckos and monkeys. It was eye opening to say the least. We then headed on a long bus drive to reach Mount Bromo!!!!! We reached Bromo late afternoon and headed straight out to climb it rain and all. The hike it's self was not bad at all just steep steps once reached the foot of the volcano. Once we were in it was insane, you couldn't see any lava however you could see very far into the crater and all of the smoke coming out of it due to it being an active volcano. We spent a good amount of time up there and Matt and I walked round the crater edge for a bit. Took the compulsory selfie and after it started getting dark headed back down. It was only fitting that we were the last down. Once down the steep steps we hopped the back of a bike and rode down the side of the volcano. It was so sick. Evening came and we realised that Indonesia does get cold. Everyone was wrapped up in every piece of clothing they owned and the hot chocolates were being ordered. Early bedtime ready for a 3 am wake up to go see the sun rise over Bromo. Peace out.
