Blue Lava Flames!

..... and once we reached the bottom of the volcano we started the hike. To get to the crater took us three hours up slopes of 50° angles and then we descended down into the crater wearing these atrocious gas masks due to the intensity of the sulphur. In the crater there was sulphur being continuously mined by the workers and there was blue lava and the whole reason why we went in the first place. The blue lava is cause when the sulphur in the air reacts to cause a blue flame over the lava and the only time to see if is at night when it is dark hence the stupid time for the hike. We watched the sunrise and admired what the inside of the volcano looked like with a beautiful blue lake within it and the. Made our way back out of the crater and down the volcano. Tired is an understatement for how we felt after being awake for over 24 hours. However no time to rest next stop Bali so we headed to the ferry and arrived in Bali where we will se out the rest of this part to our trip. We had a lovely meal in the evening which included a performance from people involved in the local orphanage. From a 5 year old to a 30 year old, they were excellent!
